About

I was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, but grew up mostly in Ontario, first in Rodney, a town of 1000, then in Belleville.

As a child I dreamed of becoming a librarian . . . or a ballerina.

Unfortunately, I never took ballet lessons. (My mother said piano was MUCH more practical.) I didn't become a librarian either - or at least not at first.

Instead, I studied education in the United States and then moved to South Korea to teach. I got married, had two children, and taught some more.

I'm the one with the red barrettes and the strawberries on my dress.

Finally, I admitted to myself that I really wanted to be a published author and write children's books. I joined the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and started to work seriously toward my goal. I worked at a public library for several years, and it was during this time that I wrote WHEN DAY IS DONE.

In 2019 my dream to become an author came true when my first two picture books were published!
